How Vuity Has Changed the Way Our Patients Manage Presbyopia | InVision Eye Care Specialists

Have you noticed that as you have gotten older reading has become more difficult? If you have, then you may be suffering from presbyopia. Presbyopia is the gradual loss of near vision as we age. Patients struggling with traditional presbyopia treatment options may be interested in prescription eye drops for the treatment of presbyopia. Here, the knowledgeable physicians at InVision Eye Care Specialists explain how Vuity has changed the way patients manage presbyopia.

What Is Presbyopia?

As mentioned above, presbyopia is the gradual blurring of near vision that can occur as patients age. Symptoms of presbyopia tend to occur after the age of 40. Common symptoms of presbyopia include the following:

If you are experiencing either of the above symptoms, you should schedule an appointment at InVision Eye Care Specialists. If you are diagnosed with presbyopia, your doctor will go over the available treatment options with you.

Traditional Presbyopia Treatment Options

Over the years, patients have had a number of options available for the treatment and management of presbyopia, including the following:

Unfortunately, for a number of patients these treatment options are not ideal. Some patients struggle with wearing prescription glasses or contact lenses. Others do not want to undergo eye surgery. Patient health and comfort are our top priorities at InVision Eye Care Specialists. That is why we are proud to offer patients the option of prescription eye drops to treat presbyopia.

Vuity Prescription Eye Drops

In the past, patients have struggled with their presbyopia treatment options. However, the availability of a prescription eye drop has changed how our patients manage presbyopia.

Vuity is the first and only prescription eye drop approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of presbyopia. Vuity allows patients to achieve clearer near vision with just one eye drop a day. The eye drops work by reducing pupil size. This helps focus light entering the eye to better see close objects clearly. Patients who wear contact lenses for other vision issues can continue to wear their lenses while using Vuity. However, they must remove contact lenses before using Vuity and then wait 10 minutes before putting their contacts back in.

Vuity has helped countless patients manage their presbyopia without having to rely on traditional treatment options. This once daily treatment works without lenses or surgery.
